Quick Thoughts From Texas Stadium

by Newy Scruggs

This is what I liked from the Cowboys 35-7 win over the Rams at Texas Stadium.

1. The Cowboys are 4-0 and the defense is getting better.

2. The D didn't allow a Rams touchdown.

3. Terence Newman came in for an injured Anthony Henry and held Torry Holt without a TD.

4. The secondary hasn't allowed a TD pass since Week 2 in Miami.

5. Linebacker Greg Ellis making his season debut and getting a sack and half.

6. Wide receiver Patrick Crayton bounced back after dropping a sure TD pass in Chicago. Crayton caught seven balls for 184 yards and two TD's.

7. Nobody is missing Terry Glenn.

8. Everything Tony Romo brings to the team. Four total TD's. 339 yards passing.

9. Safety Ken Hamlin's hits and interception in the end zone.

10. Rams wide receiver Issac Bruce leaving the game with a "injury" after going on the radio to guarantee a win over the Cowboys.

11. 502 yards of offense by the Cowboys.

12. Just 62 yards of rushing by the Rams.

13. Rams just 25% on third downs.

14. Wade Phillips is the first coach in team history to start 4-0 in his first season.

15. The only other team in the NFC that is undefeated....Green Bay.

Here's what I did not like from the Cowboys 35-7 win.

1. Special teams coverage. Dante Hall ran back a punt 82 yards and combined for 266 yards. They missed Keith Davis who was out with an injury.

2. Seeing corner Anthony Henry leave the game with a high ankle sprain.

3. The slow start by the Cowboys offense again in the first quarter.

4. The slew of dropped passes by Cowboy receivers. I know of at least 65 yards they let slip away.
