IRVING, Texas - Tony Romo matched a Dallas Cowboys season record when he threw his 29th touchdown pass Thursday against the New York Jets.

Romo matched Danny White's mark when he tossed a 22-yard pass to Terrell Owens with 6:12 left in the game to give the Cowboys a 34-3 lead. It was Romo's second TD pass of the day, giving him four straight games with at least two. He also has thrown a scoring pass to Owens in four consecutive games.

Jason Witten caught a 25-yard TD early in the second quarter.

With five regular-season games left, Romo has already equalled the record White set in 1983. White also had the second-best season in team history, 28 TDs in 1980, a mark that Romo matched with his TD pass to Witten.

Roger Staubach, one of the team's two Hall of Fame quarterbacks who won Super Bowl titles, threw a career-best 27 touchdown passes in 1979. Troy Aikman's high was 23 in 1992.

Romo has at least one TD pass in every game this season.
