DMN Blog: It's Walker or Moss or WR in draft

by Albert Breer

If the idea is to improve the team's receiving corps, the Cowboys are starting to run out of free-agent options.

Within the last two days, Bernard Berrian (Vikings), Donte' Stallworth (Browns), Jerry Porter (Jaguars), Devery Henderson (re-signed by Saints), Ernest Wilford (Dolphins), and Isaac Bruce (49ers) have come off the market. And that was after Muhsin Muhammad (Panthers) and Troy Williamson (trade to Jaguars) switched teams, and guys like Andre' Davis (Titans) and Justin Gage (Titans) got extensions before the dawn of free agency.

So what's left? Two names: Javon Walker and Randy Moss. We already know the Cowboys are interested in Walker and -- given his strong relationship with receivers coach Ray Sherman and Texas roots -- figure to be out front in the race for his services. Things are far less defined around Moss, though wild speculation is being thrown around on him.

We've also gotted word, from the camps of these players, that guys like Bryant Johnson (Cardinals) and Drew Carter (Panthers) haven't heard from Dallas. So on the surface, seems like it's Walker or Moss or on to the draft. What we do know is that this is the quietest entry into a market the Cowboys have conducted in quite some time.
