DMN Blog: When smoke clears, WR could be second-day steal
by Tim MacMahon
Oklahoma State's Adarius Bowman, considered a potential first-round pick entering his senior season, was arrested on a possession of marijuana charge Tuesday.
That sound you heard was his draft stock crashing.
Bowman's stock had slipped anyway. But this confirms the character concerns NFL teams had about Bowman, who was booted from North Carolina because of a marijuana possession charge that was later dropped.
Bowman is a 6-4, 220-pound physical specimen who was a track star in high school and played for the Oklahoma State hoops team last season.
But now he'll probably have to wait well into the second day of the draft to hear his name called. He could be a steal if he goes to a team that could keep him on the straight and narrow. (Hmmm ... sounds like a job for Calvin Hill, who might be the busiest man at Valley Ranch next season.)
