Software Gives Cowboys Film Study Shortcuts

Interesting article from the Dallas Morning News about DVSport, the latest in game film software. Six NFL teams are currently using it, and the ability to organize plays in different ways sounds like a huge advantage.

With a couple of clicks of his mouse, Phillips can have every third down defensive play against four wide receivers that features the quarterback in the shotgun.

“If I want to pull up all the running plays we’ve had in training camp, I can do it like that,” offensive line coach Hudson Houck, a 26-year NFL veteran said, snapping his fingers.

Of course, those game film full views are not available to the public, except in snippets through shows like NFL Matchup and Playbook. Wouldn’t the preseason be a great time to run a few games from the expanded POV?
