DMN Blog: Roy Williams out 3-4 weeks
by Todd Archer
Roy Williams is having a plate inserted into his right forearm to help the fracture suffered Monday vs. Philadelphia, and he will miss 3-4 weeks.
Patrick Watkins will replace Williams in the starting lineup. While not the prototypical strong safety, Watkins has solid coverage skills and has shown a willingness to hit at least early in the season.
Williams' absence, however, is a loss even for those fans who do not love his game. He is still a feared hitter and a solid run player. Without him, there is a little less fear the receivers have to have going across the middle.
