Cowboys Control Own Destiny . . . Again

What a difference a day makes. Despite losing to Baltimore in Saturday's Texas Stadium farewell game, the Cowboys (9-6) still can clinch an NFC wild-card spot by beating Philadelphia (8-5-1) next Sunday.

Atlanta (10-5) clinched the first of two NFC wild-card spots by beating Minnesota today. But the Cowboys' chances improved with losses by Philadelphia and Tampa Bay (9-6), which they own the head-to-head tiebreaker over.

A Cowboys loss, however, would push them out of the playoffs since Philadelphia -- and potentially Chicago (8-6) -- would finish with better records. Even if the Bears win tonight against Green Bay, the Cowboys would remain ahead of them in the race because they have a better conference winning percentage.
