Phillips: Barber still 'iffy'

By Tom Orsborn

Marion Barber went through some individual drills today at Cowboys practice, but coach Wade Phillips said the club listed Barber as not having participated.

That means Barber still hasn't really practiced since he dislocated his right pinkie toe agains Seattle on Thanksgiving.

"It's still iffy with him (for Sunday night against the Giants), I think," Phillips said of Dallas' leading rusher. "He's still limping some and that bothers me. He ran straight ahead with no problem, but cutting could be a problem. We are still in the process of seeing if we can get him ready."

Phillips said Barber likely will be a game-time decision.

"He's made a little bit of progress, but I would't say it's overwhelming," Phillips told reporters in Irving. "I think it's just him getting a feel and us getting a feel as to whether he can cut. He can go straight ahead, and I don't think it bothers him, which is good. But you still have to plant and cut."
