Crayton Talks Chemistry, T.O., Garrett

Cowboys wide receiver Patrick Crayton spent a few minutes on SportsCenter today, weighing in on some of the biggest questions this off-season:

On the team's chemistry this year: "The chemistry was just fine. I think you're always going to have a few disagreements and when you're playing the game of football you have that at every level. Every player on that team is not going to always agree or disagree with a person at one moment but I think we all know the one goal, and that's to come together and win games."

On Terrell Owens' locker room influence: "I think he has a great influence. I think he pushes a lot of guys to be better and to want to play and to want to win. Just coming over you could just tell the change offensively. We started doing different drills once he got there and I think you could see the change and the improvement as far as young receivers. I'm talking personally myself. Just my drive and my push, I think my endurance and everything got better once he came around. I think that's because he pushes you because you see greatness and you want to try to get to that level."

On Owens' relationship with the coaching staff: "By the end of the season, I would say maybe a little rocky, a little rocky because I think sometimes when you sit down and you have man-to-man talks, I know Terrell is one of those guys who is not going to bite his tongue. And if you're not going to be straightforward with him, there's not going to be a respect there. If you're not going to shoot him straightforward when he's shooting you straightforward and being honest, because he's one of those guys, like several other players, we wear our hearts on our sleeve. And when it comes time to get business done on the field, that's what we're about.”On whether Owens respects offensive coordinator Jason Garrett: "I think he respects him to a degree. I'm not sure exactly…You’d really have to ask him how much he really respects him. I'm not sure if he respects him totally because of some of the comments and some of the things that happened throughout the season.”

Crayton did say he can see Owens and Garrett working together next season, but thinks they would have to meet and straighten out some issues. And although Crayton spoke positively of the team's chemistry, he did say the Cowboys lacked "some togetherness" this season.
