DMN Blog: A message from Brian Stewart
by Todd Archer
Brian Stewart is no longer the Cowboys defensive coordinator after being fired Friday. In two seasons the Cowboys had two top-10 ranked defenses and led the NFL in sacks in 2008, however Wade Phillips took over the playcalling for the final nine games.
Here's what Stewart had to say via text message tonight:
"I hope Mr. Jones and Wade know how much I appreciate the opportunity to work for the Dallas Cowboys," Stewart said. "Of course I am disappointed and frustrated by this decision. This defense has accomplished so much in two years, individually and collectively. I know that there will be many reasons to celebrate their accomplishments in the future."
