PFT: Reeves Settling In For Cowboys

Former NFL head coach Dan Reeves is already making his presence felt with the Dallas Cowboys even though he has yet to officially be announced as a consultant, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Sources told Star-Telegram beat writer Clarence Hill that Reeves, who was described as an “overseer” for embattled coach Wade Phillips, was at the Cowboys’ Valley Ranch facility Monday and already has an office.
He has moved into defensive line coach Todd Grantham’s office. And Grantham has reportedly shifted into fired defensive coordinator Brian Stewart’s former office.
Of course, the Cowboys could use a shot in the arm and some stronger leadership after last season’s disappointing finish and locker room turmoil. Perhaps Reeves is the answer.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys reportedly don’t plan to go all-out to try to re-sign their own free agents and will allow defensive end Chris Canty and linebacker Kevin Burnett to test the market before deciding whether to match any offers.
The Cowboys are concentrating their efforts primarily on attempting to sign star outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware to a major contract extension.
