MYSA Blog: Will Cowboys draft an edge rusher?

There's been speculation the Cowboys will target edge rushers in this weekend's draft, but Jerry Jones dismissed that notion yesterday, saying he'd rather leave it to Wade Phillips to develop what's already on the roster.
"When I was visitng with Dan Reeves, Dan Reeves said the best he's ever seen in his entire coaching career at creating and getting your player or his to be a pressure play is Wade Phillips," Jones said. "So I don't feel pressure to get him a top pressure player, because I feel like he will adapt and will get pressure with what we ultimately do end up with or with our veterans."
In other words, Jones wants Phillips to bring out the best in Anthony Spencer, the team's 2007 first-round pick who was expected to have a big season last year but was hampered by injuries.
