Plaxico Burress a Cowboy? It's Not Going to Happen

The Dallas Morning News

2009-04-04

Don't get all hot and bothered about the prospects of Plaxico Burress joining the Cowboys now that Giants have released him.

It ain't happening.

Did you forget that our beloved owner said he released T.O. because he wanted Roy Williams and Miles Austin and Sam Hurd to thrive.

If Jerry Jones were to pursue Burress, then Dallas would find itself in the same situation it did last year _ too many talented players and not enough footballs.

Besides, Burress has bigger issues than what uniform he'll be wearing next season. Unless his high-priced attorney can work out a plea agreement, Burress could be looking at some prison time.

Maybe, he'll be the No. 1 receiver for the Mean Machine.

All we know for sure is he won't be catching passes for Tony Romo.
