DMN Blog: Michael Hamlin Looks Lot Faster Than His 4.6 Time

Michael Hamlin's 4.62 40 time ranked in the bottom half of the safeties at the NFL combine. That didn't stop him running down the fastest dude in the draft.
See for yourself in the above video. It's a reverse to Darrius Heyward-Bey in last season's Maryland-Clemson game, and the 4.3 receiver looked like he was long gone. Much to the surprise of the announcers, Hamlin made the tackle at the 5.
You won't see a 76-yard gain show up on many safeties' highlight reels, but that plays shows that Hamlin carries his pads awfully well and doesn't give up on plays.
