Dallas Cowboy Marc Colombo ready to see first action

Colombo to see first action: Parcells said offensive tackle Marc Colombo will be active for the first time since signing with the Cowboys on Nov. 1. The former first-round draft choice last played with the Chicago Bears on Sept. 11, 2004.

Colombo and guard Stephen Peterman will probably be the backup offensive linemen against the Giants on Sunday. The Cowboys signed rookie guard/tackle Cory Procter on Wednesday and released second-year player Ben Noll. Procter had been a member of Detroit's practice squad.

Procter, who signed with Detroit as an undrafted free agent, started 47 games for Division I-AA Montana and was part of its national championship team in 2001.

Procter (6-4, 312) has worked primarily at offensive tackle with the Lions. Noll was inactive for the first six games, but saw special teams action in four of the past five games. He signed with the Cowboys as a rookie free agent Sept. 6, 2004, and started the final game of he season against the Giants.

Procter will probably battle Marcus Price for a backup tackle spot.
Center Al Johnson once again missed practice with a left knee injury. If he can't go Sunday, Andre Gurode will be the starter. Practice squad center Matt Tarullo would become Gurode's backup if Johnson can't go.
