No quit in the 2005 Dallas Cowboys, but also no killer instinct
Interesting food for thought taken from acheman from a sports forum:
We have seen time and time again this year, this team will battle every game to the end and will not quit. They will not quit on this season either. We have also seen this team lacks killer instinct. We have not put teams away, and in Philly and in New York when we had chances to come out and make statements, we came out flat. We could have (and eventually did by luck) put our boots on the Eagles throats and finished their season, instead we looked like we just hoped to live through their barrage to fight another day. This week against the Giants we had a chance to put a huge lead over them with 4 games left, and we came out and looked like we just hoped to survive their barrage, and (though we nearly did) we did not. In both of these games we had plenty of time off to have excellent game plans in place. The Philly game came on Monday Night after our bye week, and the New York game was after the Thanksgiving Day game, giving us 10 days to be prepared. I don't know if we lose our game speed with the time off or what it is, but it needs to be corrected. We have high character guys, maybe we need some mean and nasty players who are all about kicking some arse also.
