Expected cut of Glover is a mistake

It's not yet a full-blown labor war in the NFL, but the battle over money has now reached the firefight stage.
The players union is finally digging in, acting tough, after years of being management's bag boy.
Due to no agreement between union and owners, and with negotiations broken off, NFL teams are suddenly being forced to dump players, trying to sqeeuze under a salary cap that is some $10 million lower than expected.
In the case of the Cowboys, however, don't put defensive tackle La' Roi Glover in that category.
When Glover was dumped by the team Thursday morning, the move was tied to the labor firefight.
But that's just an excuse.
The Cowboys were cutting Glover anyway, because of the opinion by Bill Parcells that he didn't fit the 3-4 defense.
This is a mistake. A very good football player is now gone at Valley Ranch. Talent is always more important than any scheme.
But even if there had been labor peace in the NFL, Glover's departure was going to happen anyway.
