In yet another sign that Drew Bledsoe remains the unanimous starting quarterback for the Cowboys, he will start in Saturday night’s preseason opener against the 49ers.

Sources said that the veteran Bledsoe will start what is most often referred to as the “dress rehearsal” game for the regular season. Cowboys coach Bill Parcells said this week that he might use Bledsoe and Tony Romo in similar fashion to Monday night’s victory against the Saints in Shreveport, La.

In that game, Bledsoe started and played the first half; he finished 12-for-16 for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Romo played the second half.

Immediately after the game, Bledsoe said he had no reason to believe he would not be this team’s starting quarterback in Week 1 in Jacksonville.

But there has been some debate and speculation -– mostly media-driven –- that Romo could wind up this team’s starting QB.

Romo started and played throughout the Cowboys’ preseason opener, a 13-3 victory in Seattle. In that game, Romo was 19-for-25 for 235 yards with a touchdown.
