The Playmaker Breaking it Down on ESPN Radio

recap by Trickblue:

The Playmaker:

(1) I know Deion said that Bill needs TO more than vice versa, but he is flat wrong. I think both TO and Parcells need each other.
(2) TO DOES need to practice, this is a team sport and he needs to establish his timing. I don't care how many years he has under his belt. When you are building a championship team everybody needs to practice every day. You need to practice. You never take plays off, you never have a light week.
(3) I believe 100% in Bill's philosophy if indeed TO is 100% healthy. You have to practice hard and play hard in order to be successful.
(4) I don't blame Parcells, and believe me, TO feels the pressure to play. He wants to play, he wants to be with his teamates. Steve Smith has missed two weeks and nothing has been said. The media heat is unbelievable.
(5) Expectations are that TO will explode, so the media is still trying to hit an artery to make this relationship bleed. They want a story and are unneccesarily blowing this situation out of proportion.
(6) TO does in fact have a hamstring injury. I know this.
(7) To is a great practice player regardless of what you Patrick) think. He learned from the best in Jerry Rice. Are you saying Jerry Rice was a poor teacher?
(8) I think TO should be practicing and so does he. You are coming off with what you THINK about TO having an injury. I KNOW he has an injury. He IS legitimately hurt. I know this to be a fact. You are merely speculating that he is faking it.
You are telling me that this man is doing what he wants to do but then you say he re-injures himself. Was he injured or not?
(9) I think Bill probably went to the trainer and told him to make sure TO is playing. He is getting sick of 30 mics in his face every day asking about this.
(10) I hear stuff like Bill holding TO out of the game for not practicing. This is nothing more than a practice game so it makes no sense. I think Mort is wrong about that.
(11) I just now got a call from someone in Dallas and they said that the trainer said that Bill did NOT come to him about making TO play. They also said that Mort was wrong about TO practicing on a private field. It was an adjacent field for rehab. It was the rehab field and everyone is making it sound like he was doing his own thing away from the team. This is the kind of thing I am talking about.
