RECAP: Mickey with D&M on The Ticket...
Recap by TrickBlue and C_rob from two separate sports forums:
(TrickBlue)Mickey:
1. Bill said "I gotta see something". If you were Bill would you be comfortable putting a player out there not knowing he was healthy? He hasn't played in a game since last October. You have to know he's healthy. I think that's what Bill is saying. What about Vandy? If he doesn't kick for the rest of camp, are you going to let him go out and kick in the first game just because he says he's ok? Bill doesn't have a history with these players.
2. If he is going to make Romo the starter in the first game, then Dallas just wasted 3.5 weeks of camp having Bledsoe run with the first team. Romo took snaps with the second team. Look at it from Jerry's perspective. How much is fair to offer a player who you have really never seen play?
3. I don't think Parcells ever got a good feel for Henson. There was just something missing, in Bills mind, with his decision making. There were time in practice he didn't look good, then he would look good then we didn't see him anymore. It was really a mystery. I guess Dallas could miss on the decision. Sometimes a coach just can't get an initial impression he has of a player out of his mind, I just don't know.
4. They are practicing right now and TO is riding the bike. Vandy is at least dressed out today.
5. There will be another practice this afternoon.

(C_rob) Not a lot of new stuff, mostly rehash of yesterday:
Mickey:
1. Owens, not playing a player fued? BP says I gotta see something. Would you feel good about playing a guy until you see some practice? If he is healthy on Sunday why isn't he healthy on Friday? He hasn't played in a game since last October. You have to know he is healthy and you want to see it.
2. What about Vandy? What if he doesn't kick until Sept 9? Do you feel comfortable on Sept 10? And now you have cut Suisham?
3. Do we have a problem? I think there could be, but part of it is the media battle they are having. I don't think BP is saying that he needs to see practice, but see if he will be healthy,
4. Romo vs. Bledsoe (still, hasn't this went away yet)-BP answered the question about King, if he is thinking that Romo is starting Sept 10 then they have wasted a couple of weeks because Bledsoe has been playing with the first team all TC.
5. Romo is getting attention in order to decide what to offer him when trying to offer his extension
6. Yet we never saw Henson throw much, why the decision on him. Something was missing in Bill's mind. He didn't like his decision making. BP thinks he is slow on the trigger. Maybe they miss on him, I don't know. In practice sometimes he would look good, and sometimes he wouldn't look good, and then they quit playing him.
Maybe you can get a conditional 7th. He will be subject to the waiver claim if a trade cannot be worked out.
7. Practice has started. TO riding the bike. Flozell and Crayton getting worked on. Vanderjagt at least has his uniform on.
