Stock rising: OLB Kevin Burnett

By JEAN-JACQUES TAYLOR / The Dallas Morning News

Burnett fell off the radar in an injury-plagued rookie season, but he's showing the coaches all the things they liked about him when they spent a second-round pick on him last season.

He plays with explosion and power, which is another way of saying he makes things happen. He has the ability to be a playmaker on a defense that desperately needs more big plays.

He's playing behind DeMarcus Ware, which doesn't lend itself to playing time, but if he keeps improving, the coaching staff is going to figure out how to get him on the field.
