The Mosley Afternoon Report...

Bill Parcells was in a playful mood Wednesday. He took time to talk about one of his favorite subjects: How miserable he is.

He also talked about Terrell Owens' role in the offense, Flozell Adams, Pat McQuistan, Drew Bledsoe and Tony Romo. Keep reading for more.

* Parcells is listing LT Flozell Adams (calf), LB Bradie James (groin) and Mike Vanderjagt (groin) as questionable. He said he wouldn't know how much Terrell Owens would play until later in the week, but said he was continuing to make solid progress. Oh, and if Adams can't go, rookie Pat McQuistan will be the starter. I thought Jason Fabini might be Adams' replacement, but this coach is convinced McQuistan's ready.

* LB Akin Ayodele has received several calls from his former Jacksonville teammates this week. He said he expects to hear from quarterback Byron Leftwich today or tomorrow. Ayodele had 100 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks and four forced fumbles for the Jaguars last season.

* The Cowboys will work practice squad member and fourth-round draft choice Skyler Green at running back.

* Parcells is worried about Jacksonville's two Pro Bowl defensive tackles, Marcus Stroud and John Henderson. I'll write more about this later in the week, but remember to keep your eye on this Kyle Kosier-John Henderson matchup. Henderson is an absolute beast, but he does take plays off. The one thing he always does is get his long arms into the air, which makes it tough for quarterbacks to throw to his side.

Since 2001, Stroud and Henderson have combined for 35 sacks.

* Parcells said center Andre Gurode is continuing to struggle with his focus. Gurode had a poor game against the Vikings and then made some mistakes in Monday's practice. Gurode's grip on the starting job is continuing to slip.

* The Cowboys tried to sign Thomas Johnson to the practice squad, but Houston offered him a spot on its 53-man roster. WR Damarius Bilbo will now join the practice squad.

Much, much more to come, including the transcript of what T.O. had to say.
