Parcells news conference in real time...

Bill Parcells just said it's too early to rule out Terrell Owens for the Tennessee game Oct. 1. He said the initial prognosis of two to four weeks for Owens' hand injury "could be inaccurate."

"I wouldn't rule it out now," he said. "Maybe five days from now, but I wouldn't rule it out now."

Parcells said Owens was in a "little pain today" and that pain medication was making him ill.

Parcells did say that Patrick Crayton would not be the player to replace Owens in the starting lineup if he's unable to go. Crayton knows how to play Owens' position, but Parcells doesn't want Terry Glenn to stay on the field too much.

"I'm not going to screw up two positons," Parcells said.

That means that rookie Sam Hurd would probably fill in for Owens. Parcells once again said he doesn't think the "game's too big" for Hurd, but joked that the team might have to "stop by Walgreen's" on its way to Tennessee.

Parcells continued to talk about his kicking situation. He doesn't want to keep activating two kickers, but he said that Shaun Suisham is giving him 12 to 15 more yards on kickoffs than Vanderjagt would give him.
