Two QB's. A risk worth taking?

Over at ESPN.com Len Pasquarelli has a long column on the quarterback carousel this year. Rarely has there been so much movement at the position.

This makes me like the Cowboys situation. Bledsoe is in his second season, one of the few No. 1 quarterbacks to start for the same team as last year. Romo is in his fourth season, one of the very few No. 2 quarterbacks to return to the same team as last year. In other words, there is continuity in Dallas.

Bledsoe is intimately familiar with the offense. And with an upgraded offensive line, two tight ends and two break-out receivers looked poised to post career numbers this season. Romo is also intimately familiar with the offense, and with the progress he's demonstrated appears ready to take over on a moment's notice. The offense won't miss a beat should the backup become the starter.

Howbeit, you cannot go into a game fearing to lose a starter, any starter, to injury. Injuries are an unpredictable part of the game. You cannot play to not get injured any more than you can play to not lose.

Football is a brutal sport. But it can only be played all out. You go in with the men you have and let them play all out. Hold nothing back. Play to win.

Bledsoe is an experienced veteran at the prime of his career. He has weapons all around him, dangerous weapons. But should he fall, Romo won't be a let down.

I like these quarterbacks, and I like this roster. I especially like these Cowboys chances of making a deep run into the playoffs and claiming a Super Bowl championship.
