Chris Mortensen Thinks The Cowboys Can Beat The Colts

Since there was a wide range of questions, I just pasted all of the Cowboys related questions from the chat wrap.

Andy (West Des Moines, IA): Mort, give your mid-season assessment of the Cowboys. Do you see them as a potentially dangerous wild-card team in the NFC?

Chris Mortensen: (11:12 AM ET ) I think the Cowboys will make the playoffs.

Tuna (Big D): Wouldn't it be nice to see Romo yelling at T.O. on the sidelines about his dropped passes and end zone celebrations that hurt the team?

Chris Mortensen: (11:16 AM ET ) Let Romo ease his way into that role. Playing QB is enough of a rask right now. I think Parcells needs to deal with T.O. but there aren't any surprses with the guy. They knew they were going to have to manage through a lot of ridiculousness.

Joey (Rochester, New York): Hey Mort, I heard Bud Adams was upset that Jerry Jones is going to try to court Jeff Fisher in the off season. Does that mean Bud Adams keeps Jeff Fisher as Head Coach?

Chris Mortensen: (11:27 AM ET ) I don't know that Bud Adams is upset but I do have a pretty good inkling that he's not fond of either of the Texas teams and that could motivate him to keep Fisher.

Chad (AR): Mort, is there any way out of the mess in Dallas? I think Jerry Jones deserves some of the blame for T.O., the bad drafts, etc.

Chris Mortensen: (11:30 AM ET ) Let the season play out. Jones will get the blame or credit depending on how the team does with T.O. The Cowboys drafts in recent years haven't been bad. Not perfect but nobody is. I like the way they're playing the past two weeks with the obvious exceptions.

El Moolah: Which team allows the '72 Dolphins to break out the champagne this year?

Chris Mortensen: (11:42 AM ET ) My guess is the Cowboys.

PTINDY: You pick Dallas to beat the Colts. But what do they have that Denver and Pats don't?? Both are better in every area. Colts roll.....

Chris Mortensen: (11:56 AM ET ) Yeah. and I did pick the Broncos and Patriots over the Colts so take my predictions with a grain of salt. I still like the Cowboys when they play that game.
