Cowboy Tibits:
Glenn A-OK
After missing last Sunday's game at Arizona, veteran wide receiver Terry Glenn has practiced all week, and even though he's been listed as probable, as he was all last week, he is ready to go, Parcells said.
That's a good thing since the Cowboys, facing the league's second-ranked offense, will need all the firepower they can muster in this game. Glenn is second on the team with 36 catches for 456 yards and four touchdowns.
Glenn suffered a bone bruise beneath his kneecap two weeks ago in practice, and the irritation caused him pain. He was able to play through that against Washington, but was held out of practice last week. Glenn on Friday said he was ready to go.
Fingers Crossed
Cowboys running back Julius Jones has played in nine consecutive games this season - about to play in his 10th - and he didn't even want to talk about this being the longest stretch of games during his three-year NFL career.
"I'm excited man," said Jones, who leads the Cowboys with 734 yards rushing, sixth in the NFC, but only 50 yards out of third. "I'm still playing, I'm still on the field.
"All I'm concerned about is I'm on the field, and that's why I don't talk about it."
Understandable, since the longest stretch of consecutive games in the first two years of his career was the final eight games last year. Each season injuries have interrupted the year for Jones, having been inactive for 11 of his first 32 games in the NFL.
So Jones is knocking on wood he's been healthy all season, and is 266 yards shy of his first 1,000-yard NFL season with seven games to go.
Short Shots
Cowboys kicker Mike Vanderjagt did not want to talk to the media this week about his eights years with the Colts, or their decision not to re-sign him and go with Adam Vinatieri instead this off-season. But he did refute reports this week that claimed he "had been drinking" when he made those comments about Peyton Manning after the Colts were eliminated from the playoffs in 2002, provoking Manning to label him the "idiot kicker." He though plead guilty as charge for saying what he did, admitting he deserved the "idiot kicker" label for saying what he did . . . Ah, the blue yoyo was back hanging from the cage enclosing the equipment room, as the Cowboys will attempt one more time to end there up and down season and win two consecutive games for only the second time this season and just the second time in 16 games . . . Cowboys corner Terence Newman summed up his impending matchup with Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison this way: "I think it's a pretty good matchup. We're both quick. I think we're kind of alike, I guess . . . This is probably the biggest game I've played in a while, and not just because of Peyton, but because of their receiving corps." . . . Again, this sellout game has been moved from a noon start to 3:15 p.m. (CST).
