The Cowboys received permission to talk to defensive coordinator Wade Phillips about their head coaching position.

Phillips had a combined 45-35 record with Buffalo and Denver as a head coach. It's early but he looks like the early favorite for the Dallas job. Jerry Jones isn't competing with any other teams for candidates, so he can afford to be patient.
