David Lee Accepts Arkansas Job... Bill asked him to wait!

Cowboys assistant accepts job at Arkansas

Cowboys offensive assistant David Lee has accepted the offensive coordinator position at Arkansas.
Bill Parcells, who was the defensive coordinator at Vanderbilt when Lee was the team captain in 1974, had been asking Lee to delay his decision, but he gave his blessing Wednesday morning.

"I feel like I went to graduate school for a Hall of Fame coach the last few years," said Lee, who was the quarterbacks coach at Arkansas before coming to Dallas in 2003.

"I have a wonderful relationship with [Arkansas head coach] Houston Nutt and I think some of the things I learned in this league are going to work in the SEC.

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has given Lee a lot of the credit for his development over the past four years and is taking the coach and his wife, Lynne, to the Pro Bowl next month to show his appreciation.

"I'm going to miss Tony Romo," Lee said. "We've got a great relationship because we're so open and honest with each other. I gave Bill a list of four things that Tony has to do to get this thing to the next level."

One more thing on David Lee

David Lee is a former college head coach (UTEP) who's had a lot of success working with quarterbacks. Unfortunately, one of the nation's most heralded recruits from a year ago, quarterback Mitch Mustain, is already transferring.
