Senior Bowl buzz

Just ran into Wade Phillips who offered a nice hello in the hotel lobby here in Mobile, Alabama, site of Saturday's Senior Bowl.
I joked, "You might be moving to Dallas soon."
Phillips smiled and said he doesn't know what's going on with the Cowboys job.

Ran into some of the Cowboys scouts and they are conducting business as normal. Jeff Ireland, the VP of college and pro scouting was interviewing players with Tom Ciskowski, the assistant director of college scouting.

Bucs coach Jon Gruden is here as well. His name surfaced earlier in the season, a Tampa Tribune story, about replacing Bill Parcells. Gruden denied the report.

Talked with receivers coach James Lofton, who interviewed with the Raiders last week. I covered his son, who was a quarterback at Plano West High School. The kid went to Stanford.

Many coaches and agents are talking about Parcells leaving. Many were surprised by it because they figured Parcells wanted to coach with the Cowboys for one more season.

It's time to call it a night. I have a busy day tomorrow, so I'll get back with you guys.
