Cowboys Team Report: Draft Buzz

DRAFT BUZZ: The Cowboys haven't spent a first-round pick on an offensive player since taking TE David LaFleur in 1997, but this might be the year they do it. Dallas needs help on the offensive line, especially at right tackle where Marc Colombo is an unrestricted free agent. There is no proven replacement behind him, so the Cowboys need to shore up that spot. Dallas also needs a free safety to take the pressure off Roy Williams and allow him to line up near the line of scrimmage and make plays. The Cowboys are at their best when Williams doesn't have to worry about being in coverage, but for that to happen the Cowboys need a true ballhawk at safety. Rookie Pat Watkins, who is 6-5 and 210 pounds, showed some promise at the end of the season but is not ready to line everyone up and make sure they're in the best alignment based on the formation.
