Cowboys Talk to (Ramonce) Taylor

Ramonce Taylor, a member of the Texas College football program in the fall of 2006, hopes to follow Brown join an NFL team soon.

Steers coach Jay Brown, who spoke with Taylor Sunday evening, indicated the star-crossed talent had spoken with the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons about possibly catching on as a free agent.

According to collegescoutingbureau.com Taylor (5-10, 195) ranked as the No. 1 NAIA prospect eligible for the draft. Taylor totaled 1,219 all-purpose yards (513 rushing/265 receiving/441 kickoff returns) and 15 TDs as a freshman for Texas during its national championship season in 2005.

Although he never played a down for the Steers - after failing to be cleared academically following his transfer from Texas - Taylor lists his school of record as Texas College, which included his appearance in the Texas vs. The Nation event.

"Whether he's from Texas or Texas College is not a big issue to me," coach Brown said. "I just want him to get an opportunity to do what he can. We're fortunate he experienced TC football, even thought it was just practice and structure, and we helped him along."
