The Cowboys are quickly becoming the elite team in the NFC BEAST this offseason. They have made one solid move after another, from signing Garrett and Phillips as coaches, to signing free agents, to the great moves in the draft. The Cowboys are on the rise in the NFC East!
The Eagles seem to be self-destructing. They traded DT Walker. Not like the cheapskates could get him into camp anyway. And they are thinking about putting the franchise tag on LJ. LJ Smith??? Like who would put a franchise tag on a TE anyway??? And he's no Gonzalez, or Witten, or Shockey anyway. Their big f/a acquisition was WR Kevin Curtis. He'll be an excellent third receiver. Like the ones they have. If only they had #1 and #2 receivers. I'm sure McNabb wished they had picked a WR in the draft with their top pick, instead of his replacement. And the losses on defense will really hurt them. They are like an NBA team getting bad in a hurry shooting for those coveted lottery picks. Looking more and more like T.O. got it right. Speaking of T.O. he's been kind of quiet lately, working hard getting healthy and learning the new Cowboys system. Helping out the young WRs no doubt by setting a good example and working real hard. No need to use a high draft pick with such a real professional and team player, like T.O. around ...
The Washington Redskins are still trucking along like usual. Trying to make big news in the offseason. Because we all know they'll never get anything done in the regular season. I still have no idea why they picked a SS with the #6 pick. Taylor is a fine SS. Their whole team is kind of like that, like an idiot with no idea kind put things together that don't fit. I guess that is the sign of a meddlesome owner who thinks if you give a player a lot of money it makes the player that good. Actually, when you overpay your players the most with the salary cap around it means that you have the least talent in the league. Big spending means little talent. At the rate they are drafting good young players, their rebuilding project will take the next quarter century to half century.
The New York Giants??? Everyone is waiting for Coughing Yelling coach to be fired. Eli hasn't developed and Tiki has retired. Great news for the Cowboys since they could never stop little shifty backs like Tiki. Bring on Jacobs the Bull!!! And what is that about Eli??? I mean they traded Rivers and a ton of draft picks for him thinking he will be Peyton. He'll never be Peyton. But can that Turkey even play??? Rivers had an excellent debut and is clearly light years ahead of Eli. Boy did the Giants blow it. Still, Coughing Yelling coach is desperate and has a ton of passrushers at his disposal. Until the Cowboys line proves solid, teams with a pass rush like the Giants are dangerous. Dangerous to anyone on any given Sunday, I suppose, when your QB can feel that heat. But this is the year Strahan slows down, perhaps. I don't have a crystal ball, but it seems that lots of Giants always get hurt. Probably a reason for that, and I think perhaps Coughing Yelling coach may get fired like everyone says. Hope the Cowboys help him out in that regard handing him a Giant defeat.
I am liking what I see with the Cowboys taking over the division this season. The Bears show you what can happen when your division has a down year and your team is on the rise. Superbowl or bust!!!
