DMN Blog: Ex-Cowboy bust updates
For some odd reason, there's been a bunch of news about ex-Cowboy busts on ESPN.com lately.
The World Wide Leader in NFL blogging reports that two-sport bust Drew Henson is taking advantage of his chance in Minnesota. He has a legit shot to be the backup for one of the league's worst starting QBs.
Len Pasquarelli squeezes in tidbits about Stephen Peterman and Mike Vanderjagt in his Insider column. Peterman is running with the Lions' first team, which must be a frightening thought for Jon Kitna. Vanderjagt is waiting for the phone to ring despite his Most Accurate Kicker in the History of the World title. "I mean, some team might get themselves a guy who doesn't miss (a kick) the entire season," Wide Right's agent said.
Finally, there's a blog post that links to this story about ex-kicker Jose Cortez becoming an Oregon state trooper. He's described in the story as "big and bilingual," but he'd better bring the Taser if he ever has to pull over Larry Allen.
