Training Camp update from a sports fan

Just got back from TC. Finally some pads and some hard hits.

Ellis came out w/o pads, and noticably limping. He went to the farside and worked with a trainer. Stanback and #30 were also working with a trainer, and folks, Stanback can flat out fly..............he also has the best arm of any of our QB's, I saw him warming up with one of the backups.

Flo and Columbo also came out and worked with the trainers. Neither is limping at all, so it should be soon for both of them.

It was pretty boring at the begining of practice, lots of passes to the receivers and such. Then finally some hitting, in the 9 on 9 drills.

The offense had some good runs, especially Jones. Barber got stoned a couple of times, and on one of them, he tried to take the play to the outside, and Bradie James met him head on and knocked his helmet off. This was easily the hit of the day. Roy would have been called for taunting in a real game though.

Barber came back with some nice runs later, but it was pretty even. I did see Bigg dominate Aydoele on a couple of plays.

Romo did not have much time to throw when they ran pass plays. Blitzers were coming from all different directions. It was quite a sight, and Romo would have been sacked several times. He did scramble a couple of times for good gains. Johnson didn't fair much better when passing, although he did complete some slip screens to Hurd, but on one of them Glymph pulled up or he would have nailed Hurd really hard.

Later in the the 11-11 scrimage, the offense did kind of find it's stride and there some good gainers from Jones, Barber and Thompson, who looks bigger and even faster. Battle got stoned by #59 once, but had a couple of decent runs, and the good one he had he fumbled and Elam would have taken it to the house.

One pass from Romo to Witten was a little behind and hit off of Jason and into the hands of Keith Davis who would have scored.

Glenn and Hurd have looked outstanding catching the ball, TO seems quicker and faster than I remember, but he looks skinny. He has dropped a few balls, but over all he's made some tough catches.

There is a bid differnce in the velocity of the ball between Romo and Johnson, and it is evident when they run hooks and the WR have to wait for the ball to arrive. One of them is gonna get killed in a real game.

Get ready for screens, swing passes and lead draws.

Burnett injured his left wrist on a long run by Thompson, but later returned.

TO gave up on a catchable pass when he saw #40 about to kill him. He got a few boos for that.

SOMEONE PLAESE KILL ROWDY........................HE IS SO ANNOYING.

None of the QB's were impressive today, but they had little time to throw.

I think all of the LB's who make the team will play a lot. They rotate theM in and out and all of the have some blitzes from where ever they line up. Roy is lining up closer to the line of scrimmage.

I will see about pictures later today.

Here is the link to some of the photos from the last two days of training camp.

I hope it works.

Enjoy!
