Broncos Invade Valley Ranch IV

I'm pulling a T.O., sitting in the media room instead of getting to practice on time. I'm sure Todd "Pops" Archer will handle this matter in a manner just as tough as Wade Phillips did this morning's tardiness.

OK, I'm hustling outside and will start live updates when I get out there.

4:40 -- T.O. made it to practice on time, but not sure how much he'll participate. Unlike his teammates, he's not wearing shoulder pads. He is stretching, however.

5:16 -- Non-heat related technical gremlins got to us for a while, but looks like we're back. ... T.O. is not practicing. He might have strained his back talking to the team about accountability again. ... Champ Bailey, Travis Henry, Javon Walker and John Lynch give the Broncos a star-studded quartet on the sideline. ... FB Oliver Hoyte (stinger) is back out there after sitting out this morning. ... Isaiah Stanback is sitting out as a precaution. Trainers don't want him testing that foot twice in a day yet.

5:18 -- Highlights from first team period of afternoon: Didn't watch much Cowboys offense, but saw Tony Romo hit Patrick Crayton and Sam Hurd on deep outs. ... Marcus Spears would have had a sack on a bootleg left by Jay Cutler. ... Denver backup QB Patrick Ramsey had all day to throw despite the Cowboys blitzing Bobby Carpenter and Kevin Burnett. The result was an easy completion. ... Rookie RT James Marten had a false start with Broncos' first-round DE Jarvis Moss of Denton Ryan fame lined up across him. ... Anthony Spencer couldn't generate a pass-rush against one-on-one matchups vs. TE Daniel Graham and RB Paul Smith on consecutive snaps.

5:22 -- Still haven't had a real fight yet. Deon "Cricket" Anderson, one of the leading candidates to squabble, said Wade Phillips warned him that it wouldn't help his chances to make the team.

5:30 -- I'm chatting with Chris Moss, Jarvis' big bro. It's a blast from my past after having covered the Mosses when they played at Denton Ryan. Chris was a better high school player than his little bro, but he didn't get his grades straight to fulfill his potential in college. He's got his life together now, is a family man and can't wait to watch Jarvis in the NFL. Chris still has that swagger, too. "Man, I think I could take him," he said, looking at Bigg Davis. My reply: "Oh, no you couldn't."

5:37 -- Whoa! Brad Johnson let loose a deep ball. He even overthrew a guy! Ball went off Jerheme Urban's fingertips.

5:40 -- Jarvis Moss just ended up flat on his back after trying to jump over Bigg Davis to knock down a pass. "Say, man, I'm gonna have to do something about him pushin' on my little brother and all," Chris Moss said. "Naw, man, but for real ... he's big!"

5:45 -- For some strange reason, Tony Romo tried to squeeze a pass to Deon "Cricket" Anderson near the goal line. DB Jeff Shoate picked it off.

5:47 -- CB Anthony Henry gambled and tried to pick off a quick out to David Kircus. Didn't get a hand on the ball, and Kircus might have been able to run up the sideline for a while.

5:51 -- Jacques Reeves made an outstanding interception on a deep ball in the end zone. He had great position and outjumped David Terrell despite a four-inch height disadvantage.

5:55 -- Practice over. Broncos are walking out of here a little busted up, with OT Adam Meadows and DE Tim Crowder nursing ankle injuries. This wasn't a grand finale to the First Annual Live Cowboys Training Camp Blog, but we had a great run.
