Friendly Scrimmage

IRVING, Texas (AP) - Long before Tony Romo was a Pro Bowl
quarterback for Dallas -- he was a free agent rookie who turned
down twice as much money to go to Denver.

Romo could have played for coach Mike Shanahan -- a fellow
Eastern Illinois alumnus.

But this week, they're on the field together as Denver and
Dallas conduct workouts against each other.

The Broncos are at Valley Ranch for two practices today and
tomorrow before facing the Cowboys in a preseason game on Saturday
at Texas Stadium.

Shanahan says there aren't a lot of guys in the NFL from Eastern
Illinois, so it was good to get a chance to talk to Romo.
