DMN Blog: Game balls
JOHN F. RHODES / DMN
Wade Phillips announced that the following players were given game balls.
Jacques Reeves (right): Had an interception and coaches credited him with three passes broken up. Plaxico Burress posted him up for one touchdown, but Phillips said Reeves "played really well" in his second career start.
Andre Gurode: Entire O-line played well, but Gurode was the best. "He was really physical in this game," Phillips said.
Tony Romo: His 14.4 yards per attempt was the best by a Cowboy since Dandy Don Meredith's team-record 15.15 vs. the Eagles in 1966.
Jason Witten: Had six catches for 116 yards and a TD, but Phillips raved about his blocking.
T.O.: Three catches for 87 yards and two highlight-reel TDs (one-handed grab on one, breaking a tackle and outrunning safety to end zone on the other). Phillips praised T.O.'s attitude after his catchless first half. "I thought that was special that he thought of the team first at halftime instead of himself."
