DMN Blog: No RB controversy here
David Moore breaks down the Cowboys' RB situation, a subject that causes the head coach to get a little sensitive.
Phillips understands the sentiment that Marion "The Barbarian" Barber deserves to get more carries. But the coaching staff doesn't see any need to tinker with the way they've been splitting the workload between Barber and Julius Jones.
"I think it's working the way we're doing it," Phillips said.
It's tough to disagree, seeing how the Cowboys lead the NFL in points and all. I lobbied on this here blog during the summer for Barber to get a bigger share of the carries, and I'm satisfied with the results.
Jones getting two-thirds of the carries, as was the case last season, didn't make much sense. A near 50/50 split is fine by me, which I'm sure will be a big relief for Wade.
