FWST Blog: Newman's status

Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman was moving around the locker room area pretty well and was in a good mood Wednesday. We'll find out later this afternoon if he practices.

Newman has a tear in his right plantar fascia and his status for Sunday night's opener against the Giants is uncertain. Newman ducked in and out of the locker room, but said to all the media chasing him. ...

``I'll tell you want you want to know Friday,'' Newman said as he rushed off to get some lunch at Valley Ranch.

Injured cornerback Terence Newman was not present for the early part of Wednesday's practice, casting even more doubts about his status for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

Newman is trying to recover from a foot injury.

Two other injured Cowboys, Greg Ellis and Kevin Burnett, worked out on the sidelines with the trainers.
