Not at a loss ... yet (Cowboys only)
A liberal dose

Dallas Cowboys
1st Off. rank
8th Def. rank
Record of opponents defeated: The Cowboys have played the league's easiest schedule. Dallas' first four opponents have a combined record of 3-13.
Biggest win to date: It wasn't the Bears game. It was the season-opening 45-35 victory over the Giants. New York has rebounded to win two of its past three games and looks like the biggest threat to the Cowboys in the NFC East.
Average margin of victory: The Cowboys are outscoring opponents by an average of 19.8 points per game.
Stat of note: Through four games, the Cowboys' 151 points is the fourth-most in NFL history since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. None of the three teams ahead of them -- the 2002 Raiders (162 points through four games), the 2000 Rams (160) and the 1992 Bills (153) -- won the Super Bowl.
Best regular-season record all time: The Cowboys went 12-2 in 1968 and '77. In '77, they beat Denver in Super Bowl XII. Dallas' best finish in a 16-game regular season is 13-3, which it accomplished in the 1992 championship season.
Possible first loss: The Cowboys host the Patriots on Oct. 14.
Other big hurdles: Nov. 4 at Philadelphia; Nov. 11 at NY Giants; Nov. 29 vs. Green Bay; Dec. 30 at Washington.
Why Tony Romo is an MVP candidate: Romo, who is 10-5 in his career, including the playoffs, leads the NFL with an average gain of 9.91 yards. (The NFL record is 11.17 set by Cleveland's Tommy O'Connell in 1957.)
Surprise player: Cornerback Jacques Reeves, who started only one game in his first three seasons, has started all four games this season in place of Terence Newman. Since the season opener, Reeves has held his own.
