Terrell Owens still loves Terrell Owens

IRVING, Texas -- Terrell Owens has a theory about why you see his mug after every single bad play the Cowboys have on offense this year.

The popular explanation is because the cameras are expecting, hoping and wanting Mt. Owens to pop. Or at least pout. Maybe curse at a coach.

Owens' theory is that the cameras want to "find the most handsome guy on the sideline, and that just happens to be me," he said.

One week after posting a laminated sign in his locker rather than take a heavy dose of Randy Moss-related questions, Owens returned to entertain and enlighten the masses this week.

It's been six games, and thus far the ticking time bomb that has just about always been Terrell Owens has to yet to go off.

Maybe it won't.

Owens sounds like a man determined not to satisfy an audience that is just waiting for him to go off.

At this point last year, Owens was a bit of a distraction. He wasn't crazy about his quarterback, Drew Bledsoe. And in the coming weeks after the season opener against Jacksonville, he recognized the Cowboys weren't making him a point of emphasis.

This team is. So even if he has combined for nine receptions and one touchdown in the past three games, he can live with it. Does he want the ball more? Yes. Is he loud about it? No.
