IRVING -- Guard Leonard Davis practiced Friday for the first time in two days and has a very real possibility of playing against the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said he will probably wait until game time before making a final decision on Davis, who admitted being encouraged by his progress.
Davis suffered a slight high ankle sprain Wednesday when his left leg was rolled upon by a teammate.
He was held out of practice Thursday before getting back on the field for some limited activity Friday.
Phillips said would he consider playing Davis on Sunday even if he didn't practice, as long as he felt better and was ready to go.
He said Davis was experienced enough to grasp the offense. The key with him is being able to push off on the ankle.
Corey Proctor has practiced with the first team all week and would start at right guard if Davis couldn't play.
