DMN Blog: Jamaal Charles to visit Valley Ranch

by Albert Breer

Texas RB Jamaal Charles is the latest draft prospect to line up an in-house visit with the Cowboys, one of 30 the team is allowed by the league.

The tailback is also set to visit Atlanta, Detroit, Tampa Bay and Washington.

Charles was interviewed by Cowboys officials at the NFL scouting combine in February, spoke with offensive coordinator Jason Garrett at the Athletes First Classic dinner in California last weekend, and had discussions with Dallas officials at UT's Pro Day in Austin today.

He's in a muddled second-tier of running backs -- behind the elite trio of Darren McFadden, Rashard Mendenhall and Jonathan Stewart -- and could go anywhere in the second round, or even late in the first round. Here's the list of draft prospects we've confirmed to be coming to Dallas ....

UNLV ILB Beau Bell
Arizona CB Antoine Cason
Texas RB Jamaal Charles
Oklahoma WR Malcolm Kelly
Troy CB Leodis McKelvin
Tennessee State CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
