Cowboys: Jones talks trades

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones acknowledged there has been “no movement” in trade talks with the Tennessee Titans involving suspended cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones.

“I don't have a sense for (the talks),” Jones told reporters Wednesday in Dallas. “It's a convoluted type of trade or situation. It looks to me like it's pretty much just floating out there not really with much energy or activity.”

Jones' comments came at the SMU Athletic Forum Luncheon, which featured NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who reiterated he wouldn't review Adam Jones' suspension until this summer.

“I've been very clear with Adam that I will revisit the issue prior to the start of training camp,” Goodell said. “If he continues to conduct himself in a way I think represents the NFL positively, I will consider reinstating him before the season.”

Asked whether he thought Adam Jones would be reinstated, Jerry Jones said, “I'm not at all (confident). I wouldn't be presumptuous enough to advance what the commissioner might do. But it's going to take more than just talk for Adam to get on the field.”

Goodell suspended Adam Jones during the 2007 offseason for violating the league's conduct policy. The hang-up in the proposed deal between Dallas and Tennessee reportedly involves compensation for the Titans.

Cowboys eyeing another trade?: Asked if he would consider making a draft-day trade for a veteran receiver such as Cincinnati's Chad Johnson, Arizona's Anquan Boldin or Detroit's Roy Williams, Jerry Jones told reporters in Dallas, “Yes,” before punctuating his remark with a smile and a wink. The Cowboys own the 22nd and 28th picks in the April 26-27 draft.
