DMN Blog: Adam Jones: "Still a little rusty"
by Brian Davis
After sitting out last season, Adam "Pacman" Jones was clearly excited to get back on the field in a NFL game. The fact it was a preseason game didn't take anything away from the experience.
Afterward when a reporter asked Jones how it felt to play again, Terrell Owens interrupted the proceedings from his locker stall and joked, "How'd it feel? It felt good. Hell, I've been off for a year."
Jones' response: "There it is right there."
Jones said he had to work on his timing. Chris Chambers jammed Jones and got loose for a 21-yard gain early in the second quarter. Jones was also flagged for pass interference in the third quarter. That play with 9:12 remaining negated a Patrick Watkins interception in the end zone.
"There's no way in hell I'm not supposed to get that route," Jones said of Chambers' catch. "I knew what he was running because he was in a tight split. I said there's only two things he's running. He's running a quick out or a dig. He went up 10 yards and pushed off a little bit. But you know, it's preseason. Hopefully by the last preseason game, I'll be focused and ready to go."
