Cowboys' Barber misses practice; Romo "sore"

Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber missed practice Wednesday because of a nagging toe injury and quarterback Tony Romo took most of the reps but was "sore" because of a back problem.

Barber's status for Saturday's game against Baltimore is in question, but he did play sparingly last week against the New York Giants after missing the previous week's game against Pittsburgh.

"We'll see how it goes [for Barber] this week," Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips said Wednesday.

Last Sunday night, Barber managed just two yards on eight carries and caught two passes for 24 yards in the victory over New York.

In 13 games this season, he has rushed for a team-best 872 yards with seven touchdowns and is the team's third-leading receiver with 49 catches for 390 yards and two scores.

Romo was hurt during the Giants game when he took a shot in the back. He did not miss a snap and was able to finish the game while playing in pain.

"He's banged up a little bit and a little sore, but nothing big," Phillips said, adding that Romo only skipped the last few reps.

Romo has completed 63.1 percent of his passes for 3,013 yards with 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this season, despite missing three games with a broken finger.

Cornerback Adam Jones, who suffered a herniated disc in his neck against the Steelers in his return from a six-game suspension, also was back on the practice field Wednesday. He is not expected to play against Baltimore.
