DMN Blog: Marion Barber misses another practice (Holland)

by Tim MacMahon

Marion Barber didn't join the Cowboys for today's practice, as has been the case all but a couple days since he dislocated his right pinkie toe on Thanksgiving.

At this point, nobody at Valley Ranch is counting on Barber to return to the workhorse role this season. The best-case scenario is that he'll be effective while splitting time with rookie Tashard Choice. Barber has only 2 yards on 10 carries in the last two games.

LG Montrae Holland (ankle) also sat out practice. He's not expected to play Sunday in Philadelphia, but he isn't wearing the protective boot any more.

Starting safeties Keith Davis and Ken Hamlin, who have played with nagging injuries the last two weeks, are practicing. So is TE Jason Witten, although he didn't participate in passing lines and will probably be limited while nursing a sore ankle and various other injuries.

Oh, and LB Bobby Carpenter (calf/knee) is back out there.
