DC.COM Blog: The Cowboys' Remaining Free Agents

Three days into free agency, two of the Cowboys' eight unrestricted free agents are gone: Defensive end Chris Canty, who got a whopping $17.25 million guaranteed from the Giants, and guard Joe Berger, who signed a three-year deal with Miami.

Here is who's still on the market:

LB Kevin Burnett: Wants to start, but Keith Brooking's signing would probably keep him in the same nickel role here. Doesn't mean he can't return, but it will depend on money and opportunities elsewhere. The Raiders have expressed interest in him.

S Keith Davis: He left temporarily last year for what he thought was a starting opportunity in Miami. Even if he's not a starter here, he's a special teams captain and a respected leader. The Cowboys need to keep him for those reasons. They also need safety depth regardless of whether Roy Williams comes back.

LB Zach Thomas: Brooking's signing likely means he's not coming back. Seemed inclined to return to a 4-3 scheme anyway.

NT Tank Johnson: Indicated he didn't want to return after the season. If he's gone, the Cowboys need a viable backup for Jay Ratliff.

QB Brooks Bollinger: Might have gotten squeezed out by the Kitna trade. Maybe the Cowboys re-sign him for camp.

LB Carlos Polk: Gave the special teams a boost at mid-season. Wade Phillips coached him in San Diego, too.
