DMN Blog: Anthony Spencer's maturity isn't a concern for Jerry Jones
By Tim MacMahon
In the last year, Anthony Spencer skipped a injury rehab session because the electricity went out at his house and got arrested after some closing-time drama at an Indianapolis bar.
Neither incident was a huge deal -- he paid a (small) fine for skipping the rehab session and the criminal charges were dropped. But it was cause to question whether the Cowboys could count on Spencer.
The Cowboys, who will part ways with Greg Ellis soon, are clearly counting on Spencer. And Jerry Jones shot down a question about Spencer's maturity, or lack thereof.
"I don't have a maturity issue with Anthony Spencer," Jerry said. "He's been everything and more that we want him to be."
Then again, the maturity standards at Valley Ranch really aren't very high. Spencer is certainly a model pro compared to Pacman Jones, whom Jerry stuck up for repeatedly after off-field drama last season.
