Fantasy Football Player Analysis: Martellus Bennett, TE, Dallas Cowboys

By KFFL Staff

6-foot-6, 265 pounds | 2nd year

Pros: Playing in every game last year, Bennett showed promise as a rookie. He caught 20 passes for 283 yards and scored four times. He showed big-play ability by averaging 14.2 yards per reception. The loss of wide receiver Terrell Owens could force the 'Boys to use more dual sets at the tight end position.

Cons: Attitude issues seem to be the only major knock on Bennett. His well-documented issues in last year's training camp carried through to this offseason with a video he and his brother posted online that was deemed by many as racially offensive. Will he become a distraction and harm team chemistry, a la TO?

Fantasy tip: Drafting Bennett is unnecessary, so there's no reason to spend a pick on him since Jason Witten will continue to garner the overwhelming majority of looks. Should the second-year tight end find enough playing time, he could be worthy of a waiver wire pickup if the situation is right.
